About the Taxiway Location Sign
Location signs tell pilots which taxiway or runway they're on. They're the only airfield signs with a black face: a yellow legend inside a yellow border. A taxiway location sign usually stands with direction signs in an array at an intersection, or on the outboard side of a runway holding position sign; a runway location sign (the runway's number) helps pilots confirm which runway they're on. FAA AC 150/5340-18 keeps location signs free of arrows — they say where you are, not where to go.
